How do I change my address or name on my CCW license?
If you need to change your address or name on your CCW license, you must report the change to the Sheriff’s Office that issued your CCW license within 30 days. To change your address, Geauga County CCW license holders may fill out an Address Change Form at the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office or mail an Address Change Form to the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office, Attention: Concealed Carry License.

. To change your name, Geauga County CCW license holders must provide legal documentation of your name change (i.e. marriage license) and you must appear in person.
If you wish to obtain a replacement CCW license displaying your new address or name, you must appear in person and pay a nonrefundable fee of

How do I replace a lost or stolen CCW license?
If your CCW license has been lost or stolen, you must report it to the county that issued your CCW license. If the CCW license was issued by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office, you must appear in person and provide either a notarized statement or police report and pay a nonrefundable fee of
$15.00

Do I need an appointment for the CCW new or renewal?
Yes. We do on line scheduling at

. You MUST have a completed application upon arrival to the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office, you will be asked if you have the completed application, training certification and photo for new applications (photo and training certificate is not required for the renewal process). Application can be found at

. Additionally the method of payment exact cash, personal check or money order.
How long will it I have to wait in the waiting room?
Please be prepared to wait approximately 20 minutes between applicants.
How long does it take to get my license once processed?
Once you are processed and finger printed, it will take 3 to 45 days.
If you are having the license mailed, you need to wait for the mail to arrive at your residence. If you are picking the licensed up, please wait for the phone cal indicating it is ready for pickup.
NOTE: Please insure that your phone has a working voice mail and not full as we will call once to leave a message if you are not home

How long will I have to wait for my appointment?
Only one person can be in the office at a time. No family members will be allowed in with the license holder. All other people must wait outside in their vehicles.
Please have the courtesy to arrive on time as we are only processing one applicant per half hour of business. If you cannot make your appointment, you may reschedule on line at least 24 hours before your scheduled time.
