Part & Full Time Communications Officers
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Secondary Education (High School or GED)
- Possesses Knowledge of Basic Computer Applications
- Possesses a Clear Speaking Voice that is Easily Transmitted by Electronic Media
- Ability to Hear Under Adverse Conditions and Background Noises
- Ability to Pass a Thorough Background Check
- Free of Felony or Misdemeanor Convictions
- Possesses a Valid Ohio State Driver’s License
Within One Year of Hire:
- Maintains Certification as APCO Basic Telecommunicator
- Maintains Certification as APCO Emergency Medical Dispatcher
- Maintains Current CPR/AED Certification
- Maintains Certification in LEADS/NCIC Law Enforcement Data Systems
- Readily Adapts to the Use of Multiple Technologies, Computer Applications and Devices
- Possesses the Ability to Master and Perform Multiple Concurrent Tasks with Accuracy
- Ability to Communicate and Cooperate Under Stressful Working Conditions with Multiple Agencies and Departments in Geauga County
- Ability to Collect, Disseminate, and Record Complex Call Natures in an Accurate and Timely Manner
